Stray Cats formed in 1979 by guitarist and vocalist Brian Setzer, double bassist Lee Rocker, and drummer Slim Jim Phantom in Massapequa, New York. The rockabilly group’s 1981 #1 hit single “Rock This Town” was listed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the songs that shaped rock and roll.
Set opener Cat Fight is from their 2019 reunion album 40, Stray Cat’s first recording in 26 years. The undisputed king of rockabilly guitar Brian Setzer plays the ’62 Fender Bassman, Roland RE-301 Space Echo and ’59 Gretsch.
