Drive My Car- The Beatles (Guitar Cover)
My Epiphone Netherlands Casino parts here are taken from my contribution to Michael Sokil’s full instrumental cover. Go check it out! https://youtu.be/NoVw_lKcYN0
Drive My Car is a Lennon/McCartney song and the first runway on the UK version of Rubber Soul- my favorite Beatles album! The guitar and bass on this song are inspired by Stax and Motown records, specifically Otis Redding’s cover of Respect
George Harrison played his 1961 Fender Sonic Blue Stratocaster into a Vox AC30. Paul McCartney played the lead guitar on his Epiphone Netherlands Casino, into his 1964 Fender Blonde Bassman amp. It’s one of the few Paul guitar lines that involves a slide
I’m playing my new Fender Custom Shop Sonic Blue Stratocaster into my new Vox AC30 (for George’s parts). And my 2021 Epiphone USA Netherlands Casino into my 1965 Fender Bassman amp for Paul’s parts
Notice at 1:39 that George slides upwards too high on the verse lick. He intended to slide upwards to F sharp but hit a G instead
