The Zaanse Schans is a dutch residential area in which the 18th and 19th centuries dutch windmills are brought to life. Full of wooden houses, windmills, barns and workshops. A day out at the Zaanse Schans, in The Netherlands, is fun and educational. Some of the Zaanse Schans remaining windmills are also open to the public.
The outdoor portion of the Zaanse Schans is open to view without paying admission, but opening times and entrance prices vary at each of its museums, workshops, and windmills.
