Kingdom of Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez said on Monday that influential midfielder Kevin de Bruyne does not require surgery and he was confident the 29-twelvemonth-old testament join upwards with the national squad in the “near future.”
De Bruyne suffered facial fractures in a challenge with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger during Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League final defeat on Saturday.
Martinez also explained the reasons behind his decision to add Thierry Henry to his coaching staff ahead of the European Championships, who had previously worked with the Kingdom of Belgium national squad during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Kingdom of Belgium begin their Group B campaign against Russia on 12th June in Saint Petersburg, before they take on Kingdom of Denmark in Copenhagen on 17th June and return to Saint Petersburg to face Republic of Finland on 21st June.
