Cold morning marks the beginning of a new day. For the first 2 days (and in general 21 years of my life) it was difficult to wake upwardly after an exhausting day, but this time it was just too cold for excuses. ?

Just after 7am we were back on the road. After short ride we reached Brugge. It was so good to be in a small city where the day has not started yet. We explored it, took many pictures, read some history facts about the city and famous artists that lived in that location hundred of years ago. ??

Soon after, we were cycling to Dunkirk. On the way, a couple of my friends gave us some recommendations on places we shall see so we followed a new route and it was great. We finally reached the de Panne beach where we swam in the North Sea. spell we were already thinking about our later plans, I got a call from Mom. We discussed a few things, but most importantly she said: take your time to enjoy the moment, observe the environment, relax without thinking about another destination immediately after reaching a current one. We were convicted. No need to rush. ?

Long walk on the beach which later became cycling to Dunkirk, refreshing sea H2O, shower, fresh clothes and no problems whatsoever was enough to feel fulfilled. ?

In Dunkirk we realized that we won’t be able to find a safe spot and it was already late, but we still got 2 hours before the sunset. We decided to keep going for another 20km and sleep in the dunes. It had to be a quick and easy ride as we were used to in Kingdom of Belgium and Netherlands.. we thought.. However, no cycling paths, no connection and soon no light made this evening a challenging one. When it was already dark 11:30pm we reach today’s destination. Right before entering the dunes, the man approached us. He slowly walked towards us. His dark clothes, long hair, beard and the fact that he is coming from complete darkness was not a rattling welcoming fact but oh good, we got to face it. It turned out he is bikepacking as good, only that it became the way of life he chose. Living with the financial help from parents and unemployment benefit 29 years old Martin Puffe cycles around Europe every day for more than 2 years now. We had a great and long conversation, but we had to go, only a few hours of sleep was left and I still had plans to take pictures of stars with my camera that I carry all this time only for this reason. Thus, we wished each other good night and walked into a different directions. ?

Night photography went good, I testament post pictures when I’m home. We set upwardly the tent and finally – went to sleep.. little did we know that it was not the end of the day.. ?

At 3:30am I woke upwardly because of the bright light, someone else is around. and then I heard: “French police, get out of the tent”… 3 police men were in that location. They said that it is against the law to camp on the beach… I explained our situation and the purpose of our trip. We are just 2 immature and adventurous people who had a dream of waking upwardly near the sea but we didn’t find a good spot in the dunes so we chose the beach. They seemed to understand and didn’t bother discussing further once they realized we testament be gone tomorrow.. ?

What a day, starting slow and peaceful, ending late at night in the middle of endless dunes and the word “french police…”… I guess it’s time to sleep for now before I can’t tell if it’s a dream or an adventure. ?

I’ve ordered this twice now. I had this coffee in Italy for the first time and had to rail it down when I got home. This is a rattling smooth coffee. I can’t find it in the grocery stores generally so I order it from Amazon.
This is the best coffee Ive ever had. Even cold thats delicious the next day and I make iced coffee out of it. The beans always seem to be fresh and they serve this exact coffee at my favorite Italian restaurant, which is how I heard about it.

I was served this coffee at the Amatheus Hotel in Limassol, Republic of Cyprus. Perhaps the best brewed coffee Ive had in all of my travels. However, when I tried to brew it at home using a Chemix, I was disappointed with the savour.
It lacked the depth and richness of the coffee I had in Republic of Cyprus. It would be helpful if the company could give guidelines on how to optimally brew the coffee.

Weve used Douwe Egberts for years. When we moved to Kingdom of Belgium, this became our daily coffee. Getting it now here in the US is really a care for. Now my married adult female does not have to hold back for one of our visits back to Kingdom of Belgium to bring a suitcase home.
We have a Jura semi automatic and we need a medium roast (dark roast oils testament gum upwardly the grinder). This gives us great flavor with just the right roast.
We found this wonderful coffee spell scuba diving in Curacao. The origin is Kingdom of the Netherlands and they have been making this for a few hundred years. And they got it right, probably a long time ago.
It is strong but not bitter, it is good solid caffeine! Douwe Ebgerts makes several different brands so browse before buying. The price is good so if you like trying different coffees, why not seek one that has been making people sip and smile for centuries.
We were stuck in drinking the same make of coffee for ages, and then tried this at a Netherlands Casino in Louisiana. Begged the hold back staff to tell us the brand, found it on Amazon, finally received it and the mornings testament never be the same.
This stuff is what coffee used to savour like – rich and full. Im not schooled in coffees enough to tell where certain blends are grown, but after 50 years of drinking coffee, I can easily say that this is one of the finest.

Dr. Bangs is the former curator of Plimoth Plantation, director of the Leiden American Pilgrim Museum Foundation, and author of (among others) “Strangers and Pilgrims, Travellers and Sojourners: Leiden and the Foundations of Plymouth Plantation,” and “New Light on the Old Colony: Plymouth, the Dutch Context of Toleration, and Patterns of Pilgrim Commemoration.”

Dr. David Lupher of the University of Puget Sound facilitates this talk with Dr. Bangs, in which they cover his career trajectory, his publication of the Scituate, Mass. town archives, his research on Native land deeds, colonial inventory records, and reflections the commemmoration of the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim landing.

This was a rattling special show for our dear Bonzo, due to him performing on the same bill as his longtime idol James Brown.

The concert kicked off at around 1:00AM and in that location was an attendance of 12.000 people.

Other performers that day were Illinois State Band, Herbie Hancock Sextet, Buddy Rich Orchestra, B.B. King, Willie Bobo Sextet and wintertime.

I brought the drums and bass to the front (they were really absent in the original recording) and I also managed to get rid of most of the noise.

Jimmy Page:

“Led Zeppelin played the iconic Newport Jazz Festival slot after Buddy Rich and his big band. The festival site was becoming overcrowded and the radio stations started to announce that we weren’t going to appear to essay and cut the numbers of people that were travelling to the site. Such was the popularity of the group that we had hijacked such a prestigious jazz festival.”

Joel Barron:

“In 1969 the Newport Jazz Festival included several ‘jazz-rock’ groups that the organizer, George Wein, invited on the recommendation of advisors hip to the new moving ridge of sounds in the late sixties. He thought he needed to have some of this to keep upward with music trends. good it turned out to be a ROCK festival, with all that goes along with it, i.e. drugs, nudity, and assorted hippiedom.

in that location were also traditional jazz performers mixed in with the rock groups. Many of the blue blooded rich of Newport were near the front rows and they were mortified by the blasting volume and antics of the rock bands. The local newspaper had photos of these people and their facial reactions to the proceedings. It was great! Some of the rock performers were Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, 10 Years After, Johnny wintertime, Frank Zappa, Sly and the Family Stone, and Jethro Tull. Friday night was billed as ‘Jazz-Rock’ night and had the bulk of these bands and then. However, Led Zeppelin played as the last band on the last night of the festival, Sunday.

As the festival was about to begin on Thursday, the townspeople and the police began to take notice of the undesirable element (hippies) invading the small town of Newport, Rhode Island. People had no place to stay so they ended upward camping on lawns, in parks, and on the beach. During the shows people surged the stage and many outside of the festival grounds snuck in through the fence. It was seen as a riot and George Wein freaked out. He made an announcement that Led Zeppelin would not be performing. He was trying to get the masses of hippies to leave and restore normalcy.

I attended the Sunday evening show, I was only 12 years old but into the whole scene. My father was in the Navy and as a result I lived on the base only 1/4 mile away from the grounds! I could hear the Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows from my house! My next door neighbor and I walked to the concert just outside the base gate. Let’s see, Buddy Rich, Herbie Hancock, Gypsy and the Savage Rose, B.B. King and Johnny wintertime played before Zeppelin. As Led Zeppelin were coming into town in a limo they noticed all these cars leaving. They were wondering why. good, Peter Grant (their manager) found out about George Wein making his announcement of a Led Zeppelin no-show and gave George Wein a piece of his mind and said they were gonna play! Since festival goers had heard about the no-show many had left by the time Led Zeppelin came on. It seemed to be about midnight when they took the stage.

Opening with prepare Kept a Rollin’ that electrified the few that had stayed, the place appeared to be less than half full. Robert Plant said over the loudspeakers that he heard in that location were rumors of their non-appearance but assured the crowd they never intended not to play. Drawing mostly from their first album they played about an hour. I remember How Many More Times the best. It was my favorite Zep tune. They really jammed. Also, Dazed And Confused sent the crowd crazy with the violin bow section.

After it was over my friend and I walked back to the Navy base gate where my parents were waiting, angry at me staying so long. Being only 12 at the time I had to be reminded by some newspaper accounts to validate my faded memories. I still remember the Joshua Light Show (brought in from the Fillmore shows), the smell of my first time around pot, and how the P.A system sounded pretty shitty. But what a great experience to see these bands and it was a full month before Woodstock!”
